Information about Gold Austrian Philharmonic 1 Tube - 10 x 1 oz
The Vienna Philharmonic Gold is an Austrian gold coin and the second gold bullion coin after the Gold Britannia. It is recognized as legal tender and was introduced by the Münze Österreich in 1989. Since 2002, the coin has been issued in Euro instead of Schilling. It is still the only bullion coin in Europe whose face value is denominated in Euro.
10 coins are delivered in one tube.
The design of the gold coin
The motif of the Vienna Philharmonic has remained the same over the years, regardless of the year of minting. The first side features the famous large pipe organ. It is located in the Golden Hall of the Wiener Musikverein. The second side shows various musical instruments such as a horn, a bassoon, four violins, a harp and a cello from the Vienna orchestra.
The gold used for the Vienna Philharmonic has a fineness of 999.9. Originally issued in 1 ounce and 1/4 ounce denominations, it is now available in 1/2 ounce, 1/10 ounce and, since 2014, 1/25 ounce versions. The selling price is based on the current gold price, with a slight surcharge. The Vienna Gold Philharmonic is particularly popular in North America and Japan. It has also been issued in silver since 2008 and in platinum since 2016.
